“International Handball Tournaments – Costa Azul”

“Alcochete Trophy/Handball – Alcochete Cup”

International handball tournaments (youth events) began in 1983 and ended in 2019. Thousands of players, hundreds of clubs and national teams from 40 countries worldwide participated, including SL Benfica, Sporting CP, FC Porto, ABC Braga, FC Barcelona, Atlético de Madrid, national teams from South Korea, China and many others.

During our tournaments, many others were created throughout Europe. For years, we were one of the best handball events in the world.

A milestone in women’s handball television broadcasts. On March 26, 1989, the women’s youth final, CB Orihuela/Spain vs. UFC Almeirim, was broadcast on delay.
